Job Description

The Program Director Electronics (PDE) leads a highly skilled team of engineers and technicians and is responsible to deliver on the targets and milestones set by Seaborough’s business plan and budget. In line with these the PDE develops the road map for development of new technologies and products.
The PDE arranges adequate resources within agreed budget and is responsible for the personal and competence development of his team. In the budget process the PDE is responsible for providing input to the MT. In the IP generation process the PDE is responsible for developing the strategy, the generation of high quality ID’s from his team that fit this strategy as well as the subsequent filing process. The PDE reports to the CEO of Seaborough.

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • To lead the team to deliver the milestones, within the approved budgets.
  • Personal and competence development of the team members.
  • Motivated, stimulated and accelerated of the team.
  • To identify and implement intellectual property opportunities in any stage of the development project.
  • To excel in transparent (scientific) reporting to stakeholders at all levels.
  • To lead the team to deliver on agreed milestones.
  • Design realization and validation of non-conventional (patentable) electronic circuits for LED applications and end-products for the professional and commercial markets world-wide.
  • Lead the process of innovation development.

 

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Technical background on MSc level, preferably electrical or electronics engineering, mechatronics or measurement and control.
  • Proven track record in (high volume) electronic product design in lighting.
  • Is often found in the lab and loves the test-bench: hands-on, eye for detail, self-propelling.
  • Assures integrity of data and analysis.
  • Fits in a start-up working environment.
  • Ability to develop a vision for the required development of the electronics program in view of Seaborough’s strategy and to translate this in a roadmap.
  • Experience in leading a professional team.

 

Technical qualifications

  • Familiar with all relevant IEC standards and importance in applications.
  • Experience with circuit layout tool(s), preferably Altium or, second choice, Eagle.
  • Experience with DFMEA and DoE methods, including Gauge R&r.
  • Experience with RF applications in Lighting (BLE, Zigbee).
  • Experience with (GaN) switches at high frequencies ( > 500 kHz).
  • Strong oral and written communication, consulting, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Experience in working in, preferably leading of multi-site, multi-cultural cross disciplinary project teams.
